Replaced my glove box insert for $5.99
My local junkyard actually had a couple 67-72 trucks, and to my surprise, they had a glovebox insert that's in very good condition. I still think this design GM cooked up is one of the most flimsy I've ever seen, but at least I got it back to like factory condition.

Mr B, my original cardboard glovebox was encapsulated in ductape. I did what you did and it works and looks good. But no light. Did you ever post pics of your "shined-up" grille?

Re: Replaced my glove box insert for $5.99
Super easy. The only tool you need is a Philips screw driver, and from start to finish, youre looking at about 20 minutes. There are a row of screws along the door on the bottom. One on the left, one on the right, and a couple on top. Then just pull and turn the old one until it pulls out the opening (scrunch it down in the middle so it fits. Reverse the procedure to install the new one, taking care not to rip it.

did mine the other day. Only problem is the stripped out screws that hold on the door. I had to improvise but its nice to have a place to stick my insurance and registration.

Re: Replaced my glove box insert for $5.99
Hmm I'm thinking of fabing mine out of some fiberglass since I've always hated the cardboard insert
