http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ory=33705&rd=1
I like the look of these compared to the OEM units...what do you folks think? Has anyone purchased these exact ones before? Moderators...these are NOT mine, I am just interested in them and would like some opinions. ...Jeff |

Sill Plates
They look decent in the pics. Buy a pair and let us know what you think of them. Tell the seller to give us a discount on the board here and he'll sell a bunch.

I haven't used them on my 73-87 trucks, but I did have a set on my 97 crewcab. Not the same brand, but the same concept. They really saved the paint from getting beat to snot....

because right now my truck is in a million pieces and I wouldn't know until I get to that point in the resto. I like to buy the stuff I need in advance, that way I have it when I am ready for reassembly.

How do these things mount? Don't look like they use the standard screws.

Jeff:
I got these same sill plates from the same seller. I had originally bought the ones from LMC for $18 but later sold them on Ebay and bought these. The LMC ones were pretty plain, but nice and a bit thicker. They are highly polished, a little thinner gauge material, and I really like the raised skuff area detail. The entire backside is covered with an adhesive backing, and yes they do fit. Nice packaging, surface is covered with protective plastic and came in nice triangular box. No wonder they charged $10 for shipping & handling. Dry fitted them and they fit like a glove. If you get these you won't be sorry. At least he has drop the price. In the past he was getting bids in the mid $40 range.

That's not the same thing. The one's bigblock73 posted are made to go on the door sill, not hold down the carpet. I have the polished aluminum like Bruce is taking about. I swapped out my black plastic ones.
On another note, I bought some of the door sill ones from Walmart once. They wouldn't work because my door was dragging on them. Of course they were the generic pieces, but they were way to thick.
