Removing the doors on a 1964 c10 truck

Hello everyone, can anybody tell me how to remove the doors on a 1964 c10? I took the bolts off the hinges already but there's this little slider thing that I don't know how to remove. Please help.

I'm smiling because I did that once. Juggling the door while you try to figure out how to get the door stop off is NOT fun! LOL!!!

The 1st thing you need to do BEFORE you remove the hinge bolts is use a small punch to drive that little metal pin up and out of the door stop. The pin is flared at the top, so you need to push it up from below. It's made of spring steel and is under slight tension. I suggest tying a piece of string to the top or something so you can find it if it goes flying!

Exactly as Lugnutz65 said- or you could remove the the two bolts that are on the body side, but they are a "Peanut shaped slot"

I haven't removed my doors, but I do remember reading in the Paint and Body section a hint to drill a couple small 1/8" holes through each of the hinges into the area they mount to the body so that when you remount the doors they are easy to line up. Food for thought.

...wasn't there a thread somewhere on here, where our fellow 60-66 owners had ideas on how to mount the door without help?

I remember seeing a few pictures of normal car jacks with some wood construction and/or an engine hoist to keep the door in place...

I was looking for this hint because I think it's worthy as a reminder for those removing their doors. Obviously we want to make sure the doors are aligned properly before drilling the small alignment holes, but it's a great tip for when we go to put our doors back on.

Like others said, drift that roll pin out and place it in a small bag and save it. I am 6'3", 240lbs, and had to have my wife line things up while I held the door.

or you could just take the 2 screws out that holds the little slider thing to the door . A #3 Phillips bit in a 1/4 " socket works just fine in the tight space.

The door check mounts from the inside of the door. The OP would still need to remove the pin.
