Hydoboost Question

I am installing a hydrobooster off a 94 Astro van in my 72 Jimmy with a 2003 L59 5.3 engine and was wondering if i need to swap the power steering pump for one off of a hydoboost truck as well? Will the stock power steering pump work with the Astro van booster? Thanks.

Re: Hydoboost Question

If you don't have a 3 hose power steering pump, you can T one of the lines to complete the circuit to work with your regular PS pump. Unfortunately I don't remember which thread had a nice layout of the system.

Re: Hydoboost Question

Thanks guys! I will use the pump that came with my engine then. I think I have the plumbing figured out. I will tie the low pressure returns together with a tee and the steering box return to the "bull head" side of that tee. I just wasn't sure about the pump. Thanks again for the help. If it wasn't for this forum and all of your guy's great advice this swap would not be possible. Josh.
