87 Dually to Single wheel ...
What's up guys ....
I going to look at a clean '87 Crew Dually. My preference would be a just a single wheel truck. As far as conversions go, what all would be needed ? Front spindles/brakes, rear axle, & bed is all I'm thinking ....

Re: 87 Dually to Single wheel ...
You pretty much have it covered.I did an 86 K35 last year but used 3/4T axles so I had to change spring hangers too,I never changed the box.Just cut the dually fenders off & did some trimming. The wheel wells were a bit bigger, but I had 35" tires and about 6" lift so it didn't look too bad.Swapped in a different front axle so spacers were not an issue.

Pretty sure you don't have to swap anything up front other that the rotors and wheels. As far as the back, rear axle, u bolts (maybe) and bed.

Re: 87 Dually to Single wheel ...
Well .... YA !!
I've been looking for one. I just purchased a 2001 Crew Dually for $4500 Had it for about 4 months, and re sold it for $6500. I picked it up because the guy needed money, and the price was right. But for towing the shop trailer, I couldnt stand it because I couldnt see my trailer. I like to keep and eye on trailer fenders/tire on long hauls. I've been in situtaions many times where I was able to save a wheel/fender/spindle etc. and in other times, I was so lucky ! Sooooo, Now it looks like I'm getting into the same boat ! (but I think the square body dually fenders are smaller ... ) This is why I was checking. I was thinking just a rotor change in the front, but wasnt sure. As far as fender, I would want it to be/look stock, so a new bed might have to be. Still in the air about this truck purchase. I will check it out this weekend, and report back.....
