One-Piece Window setup

Ran into another issue with my project.

The previous owner had bought the 1 piece window kit to delete the vent windows in my 56 pickup. He never ended up securing the windows permanent, they were only sitting in the track. Well, I found out why. The way the windows are shaped, they need to float along the track in order to roll up and down properly.

Anyone out there switched to these windows, and how did you get over this hump?

Thinking of buying a power window with with fluid rollers to eliminate the problem, but not sure if I want to spend the extra 400 bucks to do so.

Re: One-Piece Window setup

There is already a thread on the other end of the board on this. A ton of us have done this at home, and better in design than the kits. A ton of info here but worth it, and with vids and pics...

Search through it, see if you find what you need, and post a question on that thread if you don't see the answer.Hope that helps!

I really appreciate you directing me...I guess I'm guilty of not using the search button as much as I should

I read through that post, and I didn't see much about how to solve the issue if you already have the Brother's one piece glass.

I'm looking at the SPW power kit, anyone use this and have the issues solved?

Thanks again!

Re: One-Piece Window setup

From what I understand you would have to remove the brothers parts and start over. Even the glass template is different. I'm guessing you don't have the original vent wing tracks to use? Seems like most people with the brothers kit just don't don't roll them down. Ever. That way they can't rattle or fall off the track. Hope you come up with an easy answer, but you should ask this question on that post to see if anyone has done it. Wrong audience on the engine swap side of the board.
