Different way to wire dome light?

Hello All, Put in a 12 hour day today and just about done with the re-wire. THe only thing Im having issues with is the dome light. I dont myself being able to wire it correctly, that is to fish the wire up the A-pillar and across the roof, etc. Would it be possible to just fish the wire across and down the back of the cab so the wires would come out around teh gas filler area, then I can just run the wires under the seat and rubber mat and up behind the dash to the headlight switch? Not sure if this is possible due to the seam in the upper rear back of the cab. Anyone have any thoughts or any other "bright" ideas on how to wire the domelight without going too crazy?

THanks,
Mark

Re: Different way to wire dome light?

Check to make sure you have a spot where you can pull the wire up or down. You are probably going to have to run the fish tape and wire right behind the door if you can get it through there. There may not be any spot there you can run the wire down that way.

If the old wire is still in place I'd firmly attach the new wire to the end of the old wire and pull it up or down through the door post.

Re: Different way to wire dome light?

There was a thread on this recently, someone tied a piece of cloth to the wire and use an air hose and blow off gun to blow a wire up from the bottom of the A pillar. they used that as a pull wire for the two wires.
