K10 help
Just got the title for my new project!
VIN # - 2K1440122488 2 = YEAR - 1962 K = Chassis - 4WD 14 = Series - 1/2 Ton Shortbed 115" Wheelbase 4 = Truck Type - Pickup 01 ? or 0 = Assembly Plant - could be Oshawa for 01 but 0? = (UNKNOWN) 22488 = Vehicle Number I have looked up the VIN # Decoder and not sure on the Assembly Plant. Was there any other codes for Assembly plants that are not listed or were changed? Any help is much appreciated?

Re: K10 help
Oakland,California Last 6 digits are the build numbers. Every year they started with 1 then 5 numbers of sequence.
Oshawa would be a stretch unless it states that it was built by General Motors of Canada Now this is a Canadian built 62 K10. Spent it's life on the over salted roads of the Province of Quebec. A great truck by the way before it was retired.

Re: K10 help
After the last 4 should be a letter. My vin starts with 2K253T125***. 25 is for 3/4ton 127" wheelbase. The 3 is a cab chassie. The T is for Tarrytown. The 125*** is the truck number. Hope this helps. Any pictures?

Re: K10 help
It's pretty close to original now. So, I plan on restoring it back to OEM, right down to as close as paint color as possible. It's got the I-6 with a 4 speed granny & T221 transfer.

Re: K10 help
Hope I can get my cab that clean. Yours sure looks purty. I'll find out how much rust mine is after a blast. But the outter rockers look ok, so we'll see.

Re: K10 help
Thanks Benwah!
I just like the fact that the [235] will just run & run. And the rebuild is straight forward and a lot cheaper than a small block. I've gotten older and appreciate the simpler things in life now. lol The only thing I'm waffling on is the lack of power steering. And I haven't seen many setups with a I-6 power steering.
