Tailgate cable Mod
I've been asked about this many times so thought I would post it up. A friend sent these directions to me from a different forum so that is where the credit is due. This is a pretty easy mod that eliminates the rattle the normal brackets make and I've had it done for 4 years now with no issues.
1. Cut the T off the tailgate mounts, where the brackets connect, flush with the round stud 2. Drill and tap 8MM X 1.25MM hole in the stud to accept cable support bolt 3. Ford Ranger support bolt #N806969-S100 plus a washer for spacing (not included) 4. Ford Ranger Tailgate part #s F37Z 9943052 A, F37Z 9943053 A (left and right parts) 5. See picture...

Re: Tailgate cable Mod
Awesome, thanks. I didn't know it had been posted and since it was someone else's work I didn't want to post it without permission.
