Question about "air" gauge
I thought I would ask since I know you guys could answer this.
I recently bought a 65 big window shortbed fleet side and the gauge cluster has the factory tach on right side and "Air" gauge on the left Curious what you guys know about the air gauge and how it works Thanks |

Re: Question about "air" gauge
More than likely somebody put that gauge in there from a big truck. Those were used to monitor air brakes on the bigger trucks and now guys are installing them to monitor their air bag system for the suspension. They are quite sought after.

Re: Question about "air" gauge
the gauge looks factory almost like maybe it reads air tempature
the guy I bought it from was in his 70s and said he bought the truck in 1971 when he came home from over seas( I am guessing vietnam) and his father in law bought it new I have the original owners manual. That why I think it is original |

Re: Question about "air" gauge
I just pulled one out of a 5 ton truck. It is air pressure and the tubing to the back of the gauge tee'd off to the air horns on top of the cab.

Re: Question about "air" gauge
Where is the picture, we could tell a lot more from that. Could it be a vacuum gauge ?

Re: Question about "air" gauge
Here are pics of my air gauge cluster. It came out of a larger C60-C80 truck with air brakes, I'll be hooking to the air tank since I'll be running bags. They only came on large trucks with air brakes so someone has swapped yours out in the past, not an uncommon upgrade to get a tach but most guys use a vacuum gauge instead of an air gauge.
