Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
ok, guy's i might have to sweeten the pot, 225.00 and i will ship conus ,this cluster was in a closed cab but not running don't know about functional guage's i have cleaned it up a bit after pic look's nice tach is nice and clean and is a enclosed chrome bezel surround and case itself . the tach needle does move with side motion, the outer black bezel is nice and straight and len's is nice, if don't sell , i might consider a even up trade for a nice auto column, each pay's own freight but not right now.

Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
yes i pulled it from a cab over myself and it could be a 1964??? but i don't know year for sure everything fit's ok and you can see that it had the correct plate on the rear, and those 2 pointer's apparntly for a 2 speed rear axle, maybe someone else might have more of a idea , but it was connected to factory dash wiring. nothing is rigged up on the inside .seem's like i have seen pointer's white on other tach's i've seen advertised, and if bezel is black on cluster did 1964's have black , my two 66's have silver surround color.

Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
Unfortunately that is not a factory 64-66 Chevy truck tach. The tach might be about the right year, just not factory. Here is a pic of a cluster I restored with an original tach:

Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
seem's odd that the mounting stud's all line up on the rear mount's of case and plate on outside , nothing look's like it was modified to fit,was there a aftermarket retrofit available, not trying to mislead any one but would a munber on tach clear up the mystery, it just look's too factory to me, i will get the information of the back of it and post information tomorrow.

Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
Sun made the tachs for GM, so the standard "half-sweep" tachs will bolt in.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with what you've got, though. A few dollars for a tach overlay decal with the correct green font and little orange paint on the needle and the arrows and only an expert would be able to spot the difference. A lot of guys do this because the original tachs can be hard to find. The biggest thing about any used tach is whether it works or not. You can test them with a 9v battery and see if the needle moves slightly, but that's not a 100% sure-fire way to ensure it's serviceable.

Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
I can't read the placard on the back of the tach, but sometimes, that is a great reference because Sun used to put the Model number on that placard. It will also tell you if you need the transmitter box to make it work. The older units required a transmitter box that went under the hood.

Re: 64 66 factory tach and cluster
info on tach, say's rc 50 and eb or wpa transmitter so it does require transmitter, which i do not have ,with that info i did not realize when posting before , chevyrestoguy is correct, i did pull from a cabover, and chassy a very long extended frame, truck was crushed year's ago,so i would sell this with offer's ,but i need to post price so start at 200.00 as a posted price.so when the smoke clear's this would be a factory tach, or am i wrong?????????????????

It seems to me the text needs to be a little higher. Part of it seems to be hidden, as if the entire face was meant to be seen.
