Factory GM Serpentine Setup Help
Gents,
I mounted a serpentine set up with AC delete to my '65. I'm a little lost as to what upper hose to use. The factory 65 hose interferes with the alternator. I'm running the stock HD radiator with 1.75" inlet/outlet. I'm hoping to not have to use a flexy hose! Any help? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Factory GM Serpentine Setup Help
I am running the GM serpentine setup as well. It is a great system! Very well engineered and light-years ahead of the old V-belt systems. I really like it. I too had interference issues with the upper rad. hose. What I did was go down to the parts store and dig through the various hoses they have hanging on the racks. I found one that was the right diameter and had bends that seemed like would fit. Bought it, lined it up, cut it, and bolted it right in.

Don't suppose you have the number off it? Nobody has much stock of anything here.

Re: Factory GM Serpentine Setup Help
I'm all ears on this one. I'm using a serpentine system from a 1990 half-ton truck. I was planning on bending up a tube like the V-8 trucks had and using the small 4" hose sections on each end.

Re: Factory GM Serpentine Setup Help
Thought about going to your local muffler shop and having them bend you a piece of alumanized exhaust material?

Re: Factory GM Serpentine Setup Help
This is what I did. It is a BB but pretty much the same. I had to get a thermostat housing from a van which pointed straight up and I also needed it to be threaded so I could put a return line for the heater on it.

Re: Factory GM Serpentine Setup Help
The stat housing from the 91-93 Roadmaster/Caprice might help. It points backwards to clear the hose around the accessories.
