Carb spacer

Will I still be able to use my stock throttle /kick down bracket if I install 1 inch carb spacer or will I have to go with aftermarket throttle bracket.

Thank you

Re: Carb spacer

as far as I know all the stock bracketry works with the spacer. I dont have a kickdown cable but my throttle bracket worked when I had a spacer. As long as the cables are long enough you should be fine, the geometry isn't really changed if the brackets sit on top of the carb mounting holes.

Re: Carb spacer

ok. Did you have to use(remove/reinstall) one of the intake bolts to mount it. Will effect intake gasket?

Re: Carb spacer

It will likely work, but if you have a stock air cleaner with the metal tube running down from the thermo switch on the intake down to the exhaust, then you will be 1" short, and have to rig up something to make the connection. That is why I don't have a spacer on my carb - had it on my 73 454 and was a real PITA.

Re: Carb spacer

I have a spacer and I had to get an aftermarket bracket for mine. The stock one "worked" but the angle of the cable made my accelerator jump from nothing to everything. The bracket wasn't expensive though.
