New forum member and new truck
Hi everyone, excited to join the forum and share my newly-purchased truck (1966 4x4). First project will be replacing the wood bed - eyeballing the Mar-K kit but might try building one. Looking forward to spending a lot of hours on here!

Good looking truck and looks like a great start to a new project. Any more pics of it?

Re: New forum member and new truck
yessir here's a couple more. it has a rebuilt 350 inside, disc brakes, and power steering. will be exploring some rust-proofing options for the undercarriage this summer (rust bullet?), as the salt air here will likely eat it alive

Re: New forum member and new truck
The truck is beautiful. I'm digging the green and white combo. I intend to paint my 64 K10 John Deere Green with a white top and hope it turns out nearly as nice as yours.

Re: New forum member and new truck
Welcome to the site, that's a beautiful truck. Be sure to take some "before" pictures of the bed, so you can refer back to how much it's been improved after the new floor is in place.
Also, if your spotlight is inoperable you might find this thread helpful: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=403869

Re: New forum member and new truck
We looked into the Mar -k kits and decided to go a little different route. Got the information from the Mar-K site on dimensions and bought pine from a local lumber supplier. The wood only cost $55.00 cut it, etc. then after looking at the research Mar-K had done decided to finish the wood using POr-15 and then a UV inhibitied black paint. Spent the extra cash on polished stainless runners and bolts. Here is how it turned out.
first trial fit after cutting and before finishing: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...rLzpm&lb=1&s=A What it looked like as we installed it: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...xvc8z&lb=1&s=A after it was installed: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...3324&k=VFxsvXX Good luck doing yours. Kieth ps like the green;;;;; |

She sure is a purdy looking truck! I've never been a big fan of green trucks, but that shade looks great on your truck!
