Speedo cable - AHHH!

Still working through all the things I need to get right for rego and discovered the speedo cable is no good on the 50.

The gauge itself is brand new.

This is what I found at the transmission end.

I have no idea where I'll go to get a new cable in a hurry - will have to research or ship a new one from the US. That will take a lot longer than I have as I hope to get rego inspection done next week.

Do I need to remove the transmission fitting as well and have anything done with that end, do i need a new fitting to go on the trans as well as im not sure how the cable works in there or how it connects to the trans end.
