..1950 Chevrolet 3100
Again, the 1950 Chevrolet Truck line-up continued with the Advanced Design bodies from the previous year. On panels and canopy expresses, a new single-sheet plywood load floor replaced multiple-board construction for better dust sealing. A 216.5 cu. in. 6 cylinder engine with 92 hp and an improved Rochester B carburetor helped the Chevrolet pickup be #1 in sales. The ¾ ton trucks, as well as the 1 ton trucks, received the same Advanced Design styling but had a longer wheelbase and bed. Longer running boards were featured on the 3600 & 3800 series. Also available again were the 3700 Series (3/4 ton) and 3900 Series (1 ton) Dubl-Duti Forward Control Chassis Truck, however now they were equipped with the new “Loadmaster” six. The buyer still had the option to add their own truck body to the Dubl-Duti. Calendar year production for the 1949 Chevy Pickup totaled 494,573. Options included genuine leather seat trim, chrome radiator grill, long running boards and rear fenders, dual tail and stop lamps, oil bath air cleaner, heavy-duty clutch and various tire size options. Dealer accessories included a rod type radio antenna, locking gas cap, gasoline filter, outside air heater/defroster, matched horns, underhood lamp, non glare rearview mirror, hood ornament, windshield scraper, electric shaver, plus a tool kit bag and tools. 1950 Chevrolet Pickup Production NumbersModel Number Body/Style Number Body Type & Seating Factory Price Shipping Weight Total Production Sedan Delivery - Series 1500 - 116 in. wheelbase 1271 - Sedan Delivery $1,455 3,105 lbs - 1/2 Ton Commercial - Series 3100 - 116 in. wheelbase 3103 - Chassis & Cab $1,175 2,910 lbs - 3104 - Pickup $1,243 3,175 lbs - 3105 - Panel $1,440 3,375 lbs - 3106 Suburban (doors) $1,690 3,670 lbs - 3107 - Canopy $1,492 3,335 lbs - 3116 - Suburban (gate) $1,690 3,075 lbs - 3/4 Ton Commercial - Series 3600 - 125.25 in. wheelbase 3602 - Chassis $1,050 2,710 lbs - 3603 - Chassis & Cab $1,274 3,170 lbs - 3604 - Pickup $1,302 3,515 lbs - 3608 - Platform $1,308 3,560 lbs - 3609 - Stake $1,425 3,700 lbs - 3/4 Ton Commercial - Series 3700 - 125.25 in. wheelbase 3742 - Chassis $1,066 2,475 lbs - 1 Ton Commercial - Series 3800 - 137 in. wheelbase 3802 - Chassis $1,124 2,980 lbs - 3803 - Chassis & Cab $1,347 3,440 lbs - 3804 Pickup $1,461 3,930 lbs - 3805 - Panel $1,659 4,190 lbs - 3807 - Canopy Express $1,736 4,145 lbs - 3808 - Platform $1,477 4,010 lbs - 3809 - Stake Bed $1,550 4,255 lbs - 1 Ton Commercial - Series 3900 - 137 in. wheelbase 3942 - Chassis $1,159 2,640 lbs - Chassis DataModel Wheelbase Overall Length Front Tread Rear Tread GVW Tires Model 1500 116 in 197.5 in 57.6 in 60 in 4,100 lbs 6.00 x 16 in Model 3100 116 in 196.6 in - - 4,200 - 4,600 lbs 6.00 x 16 in 6-ply Model 3600 125.25 in 206 in - - 5,200 - 5,800 lbs 15 in 6-ply Model 3700 125.25 in - - - 7,000 lbs 7.00 x 17 in 6-ply Model 3800 137 in 223.88 in - - 6,700 - 8,800 lbs 7.00 x 17 in Model 3900 137 in - - - 10,000 lbs 7.00 x 17 in 6-ply Vin Number Decoding - 1950 Chevrolet Pickup Location: On plate attached to the rear face of left-hand door hinge pillar and on right side of cowl under hood.
