Just Brought her home

Not sure what I'm want to do with her yet? Thinking of just leaving it the way it is and maybe whitewall tires and a cruiser.......

Re: Just Brought her home

Scott's ifs front, pete and jakes bolt on rear 4 link with a cheap 10 bolt, and drop in a stock lsx motor. 30mpg without removing any sheet metal. Well, maybe the hood.

That would be pretty sweet.

This is the thread I was referring to with the no sheet metal removed for the ifs.

It's a tad more expensive than the cheapo mustang II setups, but the kits are top notch, Look amazing, And easy to install..

Re: Just Brought her home

If you switch the front to IFS then a Camaro or S10 rear axle is what most are running. If you leave the front 6 lug, then a 67-69 C10 2x or 4x rear works great.

The truck looks good just the way it is. I dig the red rims.
Keep us in the loop.

Re: Just Brought her home

Looking great!
I'd just switch out the rear end and trans, motor if you had to.
Keep the body the way it is, but maybe give it a CLR wash - get the nasty rust off.

I dig the driver side spare myself.... I'm thinking of just leaving her the way it is but a small drop and maybe slap on some 3" white wall radial tires and running the stock motor for now?!! But it may change by next week? Lol

Lol. I am an organalist myself so that's why I even suggested a 235. It's not hard to go back to original if you want to that way.

Re: Just Brought her home

Nice ride! What is the plan as far as use? Work truck? Cruiser? I love the patina! Don't change a thing on the body. That truck took over 50 years to get that way. Why change it? I would just re-upholster the seat, fix the steering wheel cracks, and enjoy it. Get the motor running, sell it, and drop in something a little better. I say 350 small block with a manual trans. The fame should be able to handle the extras power but it depends on rust. In Texas, you'd be fine. As for rear, I can't offer any help. Sorry..... Let us know how it goes!
