Brake shoes n Shocks

66 GMC C1000, drum brakes, rear leaf springs, short bed.

Replaced brake shoes and drums a few years ago and they are terrible. Doubt I can skid on wet pavement. Shoes have hairline cracks. Don't recall brand.
Looking at Raybestos professional, AC Delco, etc.
Anyone know which brake shoes are decent?
If they will skid on dry pavement it would be great.

I'm considering Monroe Sensa-Trac load adjusting rear shocks (has small coil spring). Thought they may handle payload a little better. Truck sits level when empty. The leaf springs sag w/ load. Anyone have any experience w/ shock that has included small coil spring?

I may scour junk yard in future to see if any modern truck leafs fit. Don't know if any other springs fit?
