cooling fans
I've got a 51 1/2 ton, on S10 frame, 327, using a electric puller fan because of tight clearance to radiator. The fan is out of a Mercedes Benz, it moves a ton of air, keeps the temp at 200 or less, but it is loud!! It's 19" across. Completely covers my radiator, (except the corners). Are smaller fans any quieter? I know you obviously can't hear mine, but to those of you with electric fans, is the noise distracting?
When I pulled into the driveway today for the first time after getting it running and driving, my wife said, "wow what sounds so funny?" She noticed it right away. The more I drive it, the more it bugs me. I'm thinking maybe find a tight clearance Flex-a-lite fan and make a shroud. Or do you think a smaller aftermarket fan would be quieter?

Re: cooling fans
not sure what your blades look like but i've found that the curved blades don't make as much noise..

Re: cooling fans
I figured that was the reason for that design.
