Re: Attn all custom camper owners

You've got my build sheet, Yelmer. I'd also love to see how many original CC trucks are lurking out there.

Well i had one. It was my gramps. I had to part it out. It was totally shot. all i have left is the frame and motor. The th400 is going in my other 66 lwb. He has the spid sheet, but i would have to remember to ask him for it. Thats not easy...the remembering part, lol

Re: Attn all custom camper owners

Out of all the invoices and window tickets I have, I found these two.
The ECL code differs from ridgeblue00's SPID equipped 327 as the first invoice below is a 292 inline. I'm finding the letters change with which engine it was equiped with.

Z81AG - 292
Z81BG - 327

Looks like this guy traded in two trucks for the Custom Camper.

Re: Attn all custom camper owners

Thanks for posting invoices, always informative. Notice the desirable 4.11 ratio option, most 3/4 tons came with the standard 4.57 ratio. This same truck does not show an engine option, so it was equipped with the standard 250 6 cyl. I believe Chevy made a mistake by not including the 4.11 ratio as standard equipment with the Custom Camper Option. By comparison, Ford included the 4.10 ratio as standard with the Camper Special option. The other truck shows it was bought in Oct '66, after the completely redesigned '67's were available. Smart man bought the '66, didn't go for that smooth car like styling on the 67's.

Re: Attn all custom camper owners

the extra cost of the 4:11 was $8.65 that was the same cost as heavy duty shocks
