My project (Identifying the Engine)

On my 1964 C10. It has an Inline 6 and I am trying to identify it. I find some letters and numbers on the PAD behind the distributor and it looks sort of like:

F0211TCK

I have been unable to successfully cross reference this. I am trying to see if it could possibly be the original Engine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: My project (Identifying the Engine)

Thanks. I had seen that. Helped with casting number. Definitely a 230/250 1964-1976 but trying to determine if its original. Apparently they didn't start stamping VIN on engine till a few years later. Thanks again.

Normally when you see a 3 letter suffix, that usually started in 1970.2 letter suffix prior. TCK is a 1970 truck 155 HP 250 Six.

Hah! So obviously not the original power plant. Makes sense 'cause when I went to get a new fuel pump it became an ordeal. Thank you so much for the info... now if I can figure out why it's smoking... compression within 10lbs across all cylinders and doesn't smoke when you first start it so I am hoping it's just valve stem seals... runs so quiet.

Thank you again and Thank you to your "Apache Pilot" for their service. I have one son in Afghanistan for the 3rd tour and one that is a vet. God bless our kids...

Re: My project (Identifying the Engine)

Good deal... My son, 32, is now starting year 15... Iraq twice and now the trifecta in Afghanistan... I had sensed that your pilot was a daughter and that is why I thanked you for "their" service... awesome stuff. It's a good feeling to be proud of our kids as I am sure so many are.
