Bed wood clearing?

So what can I do to get the best shine and protection from my bed wood. I want something that is going to look good for a long time..

Marine varnish, at least 3 coats. Never have to worry with it after that IMO. Although I don't get the thing out in the rain.

Hopefully mine won't be out in the rain either but you never know when you'll get caught out in it. I will have to see what I can find

I'll tell ya this, I had to have mine towed to the shop on Monday. Course it was raining that morning, but once I got it there, I just wiped it dry and all good.

Here is a link to Mar-K, they did testing over the years and if you will follow the attached link you can see the results of that testing. I think there are 4 parts to it.

I put Marine varnish on mine and it saw some California sun and rain and started to peal. I did not put a under coat on it like they do in the mar-k test. When I redo it I will add the under coating. POR-15 Pelucid - Clearcoat I think.
