5.7 engine/ 6.2 radiator/ hoze question

Hey Guys, Got a 1985 k3500 with a 5.7 in it. At some point in its life the front end was wrecked and had a small radiator put in it. So I came across a radiator out of a 6.2 truck and buy it. I have all the rubber mounts, shroud, trans cooler lines all figured out. The lower rad hose is gonna work but the upper one is too short. Tried the 6.2 hoze and its too short too.
Any body do this swap? What hoze did you use?
I could use the upper hose off a 72 truck with the steel tube and extend the strait piece, but would prefer not to. Its a spare for my other truck/Blazer.

Re: 5.7 engine/ 6.2 radiator/ hoze question

UPDATE:
The lower hose ended up not working correctly. I used the original diesel hose on the rad and a hose I dug out of my hose box on the water pump, coupled together with a piece of 1.75 tubing.
The upper hose was a combination of the original hose going on the motor and a hose from a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0l to the radiator with a exhaust tubing adapter to connect them.
The kids at Advanced Auto think i am a nut when I ask to look at the hose rack. "Well, what year is it...etc."
The diesel radiator has the trans cooler on the driver side, and the engine oil cooler on the pass side. My engine isnt set up for a engine oil cooler, so i plugged those ports. And i have a heavy duty trans cooler already installed, so i didnt use the radiator trans cooler.
I also removed the 195 deg thermostat and installed a 180 deg.
The actual rad install went easy, all holes were already there for the bigger rad and related parts.
But my Frankenstein hose assemblies are not pretty....the will work, but i will continue to look for 1 piece hoses for this conversion. If i ever have a hose failure out on the road it could be a hassle tryng to get the right combination. Although i did keep good notes with part numbers.

Re: 5.7 engine/ 6.2 radiator/ hoze question

years ago my dad had a burban with the 6.2 rad in it as well. If I remember right we looked at the hose racks at parts stores to find what we needed and ended up with flex hoses.

Thats what the Advanced Auto kid suggested. But I'm dot a big fan of them things. It would probably work in a pinch though.
