doors whistle with a/c on normal setting
Has anyone had this problem? The doors have a whistling sound with the a/c on normal, bilevel, vent, but not on max. It is worse with the fan on the highest speed. If you crack the window it will stop. It does this sitting still or driving. Any ideas?

Mine will do the same if the vent window is not shut all the way.
I just give it a little tug and the whistle stops. It is also a good idea to take a Q-Tip and coat all the rubber with silicone every once and a while. |

Do you have a rear slider window? Some of these don't seal well and I had one that caused the problem you are having. Also the vent window locks get a bit worn causing air infiltration. I placed a quarter between the vent latch and the post which made a tighter seal. It also added $ .50 to the value of my truck. Hope this helps.

I have replaced both door opening weatherstrip with OEM weatherstrips. This did not help. I have a solid back glass. It will make this noise sitting in the driveway. I think it has something to do with the a/c. Any other ideas ? Thanks ! ! !

Mine whistles too. It comes around the door panel holes. I replaced my door panels with the cheap pieces of crap Coverlay sells. I think this is part of it. I'm planning on taking mine off and sealing everywhere there is a hole in the door behind the panel.
My whistling comes from around the inside door handle.

Cadillac quiet is something that has always been something that our trucks never had.
Here's a few things I have done that has helped me in the past: Replace the door and window weatherstripping with new but use a bead of black weather strip adhesive on the back side when installing it. This eliminates the air from getting around the backside of the weather strip. I went to a junk yard and removed the faced type thick insulation from under the carpets of a late model luxury car. I cut out peices to fit the doors then used duct tape to install it before I put on my door panels. Most junk yards are happy to see you take it and usually will give it away free.

Look behind your right (passenger side) kick pannel inside the cab, you should see a vent which is run by engine vaccume, I think this vent only opens when its on max AC. I'm not sure, I've never had a truck with AC that worked, but if it does open only on max AC this I think would be the same as cracking a window open.

There is that vent on the bottom & side of the door. It is supposed to act as a one way valve, but it is rubber and can deteriorate. Replacing that might help. Stock, these trucks also came with some cardboard-paper stuff attatch to the door with tar behind the interior door handle that helped (I think). Anyone want to take a stab at making a new higher quality one? I have air shooting out from the interior door handle all the time & it gets old.
