Hitches
Does anybody have pictures or info on hitches for 47-59 trucks? I haven't seen but a couple. I'm looking for goosenecks and bumper pulls. Pics appreciated!

Re: Hitches
I just got a standard DrawTite brand at a yard sale and modified it for side mount to the frame (bottom mount interfered with the gas tank mounting). The receiver part fits right up against the bumper, main piece is hidden behind the bumper. Nice added protection for the tank just in case I get rearended.

Re: Hitches
Also, U-Haul part number 75133 fits perfectly but I think you have to drill new holes for it. I THINK I read somewhere it is the part number to fit a Chevy Venture/Uplander van.

Re: Hitches
Here is photo of it from the back with the bumper in place. Nice and clean. I pity the fool in a new car that rear ends me.

Re: Hitches
Great thread and sweet pics. I want to add a hidden hitch to my suburban project. This gives me some ideas.
Thanks Marc

Re: Hitches
Youngrodder, If you want a hidden hitch, put it behind the license plate. Put a hinge on the bottom of the back license plate and drop it down when towing. You'd have to figure out a hidden latch for it.
