Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
When I bought my blazer it didn't have a mirror on the passenger side. I would like to get a set of these mirrors: http://www.classicindustries.com/197...ts/cx1149.html
When mounting these, I have to install the plate on the inside of the door, correct? Can I access this area on the inside of the door just by removing the inner door panel? |

Re: Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
Plate goes inside door, yes. LH vs RH mirror mounting differs slightly - if you have factory holes no big deal but keep that in mind if not. Panel will need to be removed, not sure you'll be able to get access without removing the window glass - maybe rolling it up will work - someone else should know.

Re: Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
Yes, roll it up and tape the plate on the inside so you can work on the outside to screw the mirror to the plate. If that makes sense..........

Re: Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
Taping the plate is a good idea. I had my wife reach up and hold the plate while I attached the mirror on the outside.

Re: Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
Don't waste your time and money installing that mirror. You will never be able to adjust it to a position that will allow you to see anything. Classic Industries has a mirror for older pickups that extends out farther and I have been told that it works much better.

Re: Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
The passenger side mounting holes are further back than the drivers side specifically for that reason. I have no problems seeing out my passenger side mirror.

Re: Mirror Mounting- Dumb Question?
I'd rather have the below eyeline or camper style mirrors on my K5 than the tiny "sport mirrors" but would stick with stock if that's what the door holes are for...
