Why can't you get your kick down to work with a throttle rod?
Whats holding you back? |

Mr. Gasket makes a throttle pedal & cable assembly that would probably work. I use one in my truck because the angle on my rod was too steep & kept binding up at WOT. It works great, dont know who makes it though, got it from a guy at work.

Does that include the firewall? They are not the same. I don't know what is needed to make the cable work on a rod fire wall though.

well i had it rigged up but the trans still wouldnt kick down. so i figured it was because the rod was in the way of the bracket. i may need to just take the truck somewheres and get it hooked up, because i can't seem to get it to work.

what carb are you using
on my truck the kickdown cable is hooked to the carb. Also do you have a bracket to run the kickdown cable thru it should be mounted low near the intake so the throttle rod won't affect it Mike |

Longhornmail...you need to make a square hole to accomodate the cable, and drill three holes for the bracket. Not a difficult upgrade. I can provide a cardboard template of the location of the square hole, and bracket holes.
