Camper Tops? Which will fit?
Hey guys,
I am looking to buy a camper top pretty soon for my move to TN in the Sept/Oct area. Any one know of which camper tops of what trucks will fit my 68 LWB? It doesnt have to look pretty or anything like that because as soon as I get moved I am trashing it or giving it away to a new home. I never liked camper tops too much but it sure would help me with my move if I had one. Anyone have any ideas? I am looking for something pretty cheap since I will be getting rid of it ASAP. thanks guys CHRIS

I know alot of people dont ever use a camper top on their trucks but any information would be greatly appreciated. You think I could use any top that will fit an 8 foot bed? This is going to be used for a VERY short time. I do not like camper tops either but this option seems the best for what I am doing. Any ideas?!?!

Here is a nice fiberglass Leer topper on a 72K20 I used to own. It was originally on a 1995 Ford. It fits very well, only slightly wider than the bed. I ran 3 aluminum topper clamps on each side, and never had a problem.
For a short duration, you could probably get by with just about anything made for an 8 foot bed. Aluminum is way cheaper and lighter than fiberglass, fiberglass is a nicer if it is going to be left on the truck more permanently. |

I hear ya. Thanks for the reply.
I kinda figured that pretty much anything that will fit an 8 foot bed fullsize will pretty much work. Like I said it isn't going to be a permanent type of thing so many of the tops should work. Now I just have to find me a CHEAP one somewhere. Maybe for free? hehe thanks CHRIS

Any topper that will fit a 73-86 chevy long bed (Fleetside) should work. I have a short bed and have a slimline for the bed. It came off a 84 chevy shortbed and it fits perfect. Long beds toppers are 8 ft and should work. Not sure on a Ford topper.....
