What color is this '68 GMC C3500??
Dumb question... what color do you think this '68 C3500 is???
Couple things: First, there is no SPID so I cannot look up the code. Second, the exterior color is a repaint. That said, it does closely match the original paint on the inside of the cab. I looked up factory '68 GMC colors, and I am guessing this is Vermillion Metallic (w/ years of fading)??? Anyone have an opinion??? Many thanks! Amstaff |

. . . .
Here are two faded 67's that were said to be Vermillion . . . Yours seems to be still a lot lighter. . . . . |

Re: What color is this '68 GMC C3500??
It is Palomino Tan, good eye Bruceman. My truck (Great Grandpas 68 C2500) was the same color. When my Grandpa got it later he did the same thing and painted a 'matching' color over the exterior. I got the truck when I was 19 and stupid me tore off the SPID.

If I had it I would keep the color, it's an odd one and I think that makes it cool.

Re: What color is this '68 GMC C3500??
It is a very unique color. I have now seen two GMC's besides mine in that color. And I think I saw it on an old T-Bird once, but that was a very long time ago. I won't tell you what my step dad used to call that color (got me edited on the 67-72 Facebook page). Mine looks very similar (faded) on the outside to the 3500 pic you posted. The interior though is closer to the 'darker' looking color on the chart. Probably had to thin the paint quite a bit in 68 since not many people ordered it since 62.
