Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
Picked up this 1969 c10 at the Lambrecht Chevrolet auction last weekend. Here's a couple pictures. I will be posting more soon.
I started a build thread in case anyone is interested in following my progress. There are more pictures posted there: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=599339 |

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
I'm going t restore it although I just started a frame off 1967 GMC K15 project so it will be after I'm done with that. In the meantime I think I'm going to try to get it road worthy and drive it around. The engine is loose but I'll probably pull it anyways just to make sure there aren't internal problems. I'd hate to ruin the original engine because of laziness!

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
What make you think it's a 70? The vin starts out CE149J which would make it a 69

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
Yep. 78k miles. It is pretty funny how all the wood boxes basically just vanished. All the vehicles were pretty rough that's for sure but I wonder if they were sold 40 years ago how many of them would still be on the road. At least these weren't driving around on roads that were all salted up for the snow. That seems to make rust issues a lot worse. It almost seems like these vehicle are getting a second chance.

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
Looking at the front grill, I would think so too. It looks like a 70 grill. Good luck with it.

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
You guys are probably right. The grill does look different in the picture. I guess there's a good chance it was wrecked at some point and refitted with 1970 parts. That might explain why the front clip is so straight. I'll get a better picture of it tonight. What other difference should I be looking for?

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
I guess it has metal door panels,so that won't show a difference between 69 and 70. The VIN says it all, though.

. . . .
Did the passenger side valve cover have any remains of an "8 307" sticker on it ? ( under the dirt, that is !!! ) If so, could you take a close-up picture of it ? . . . . |

Re: Lambrecht Auction 69 c10 I Bought
That is a very cool truck! A piece of automotive history for sure!
I was there. It was crazy what some of those heaps were bringing. One trashed 60's Caprice wagon with a smashed in front end brought $600-800. Not to mention a 1982 "Brand New" Chevette that went for over $2800. The biggest kicker was the '58 Apache 10 with Cameo trim with 1.3 original miles that sold for $145,000! That's just stupid crazy!

I think its cool you had the guts to fight that crowd .... years from now you can tell car guys you were 'there'..... kinda like Woodstock. And congratulations on your purchase.
