Inner Fenders

Ok what's everybody doing about rust at the front of your inner fenders, are you just patching them up or replacing them with oem or aftermarket. There's so many bends and different angles..Not too sure I can make that patch.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Inner Fenders

Telling you that mine were fine really doesn't help you much I guess. I do have an extra set but I'm not close by and shipping will cost a bit. You gonna be anywhere near Columbia, SC anytime soon? Send me a PM if you are.

Re: Inner Fenders

im planning on trying to make the patch panels because lmc wants 80 bucks for a set. there is a brace under the area that rusts. probably the reason it rusts, but not sure if its needed for structure.

Re: Inner Fenders

Like everything else on my truck, I repaired that portion of my inner fenders with JB Weld. Not necessarily the best approach, but it works for people like me that lack welding skills. The repairs are shown in my build thread starting at post #98 on page 4:

Re: Inner Fenders

I'll be honest... I find so many of these in unrusted condition in the junkyard here, I don't even look any more.

Everyone always says "buy all you can find!" but I never have any luck selling them...
I know where there are half a dozen in two junkyards right now. And maybe a couple more in a third.

Re: Inner Fenders

Yea I know. I really don't think that are any of those yrs trucks in the junkyards here. Except for private junkyards but chances are there rusted to. We like to use road salt a lot.

$20-$40, depending on the yard.

As someone else said, shipping is the problem.
The last pair I had, I picked up one with a good fender--it was the same price whether I got just the outer fender or the whole "assembly."
I took it to my swap meet and someone snagged it, and asked if I had the other one. I went to the junkyard on Monday and picked it up, he came and bought it from me on Tuesday.

Past that, I really haven't had much luck selling them.
