'67 4 WD question

my 4 wd seems to work fine but seems to only have one range. is that correct? or was there options for a low/high range in 4wd?

I have a '71 4wd so not totally familiar with the '67 but you normally would have 4LO, neutral, 2HI, and 4HI shift postions. In '67 the shift positions were a sticker or decal on the glove box and that may no longer be there. In '71 & '72 the shift postions were marked on the transfer lever shift knob. Have you looked under at the transfer case / shift lever area to make sure everything is good? Nothing bent, loose shift bar linkage (maybe even missing linkage ?) Lots of things can happen to mechanicals in 46 years. '67 I believe would have had a Rockwell transfer case. Try posting in the 4wd sectin and some one more knowledgeable should be able to help. The shift pattern went, from all the way forward to all the way back, 2hi, 4hi, n, 4lo

in that case, I'm just blowing by 4hi and throwing it in 4lo....

That's the pattern for a Rockwell which was offered until 68, but if someone put in like an np205, it is different. My t-case is sloppy and very hard to tell where 4hi and neutral are but they are there

for some reason, I had it in my mind that it was 2hi, neutral, 4hi, 4lo... so i just pulled it all the way back to 4lo. i'll be a little more intentional when i mess with it later today..

I want to say that's what the 205 shift pattern is but not sure. I've seen other threads on how to id the transfer cases so I would figure out what case you have, again of it original it will be the Rockwell t221 but may have been swapped at some point

according to the old friend i got it from...its all original. his dad picked it up new as a shop truck for the feed store he owned.

Okay, then with the shifter all the way back, it should be pressed against the seat it will be in 4 low

looks like your right, thats my bad. Either way, he would have a t221 unless it isn't original and the shift pattern would still be 2hi-4hi-n-4lo.
