gas tank straps

I see two different after market straps for sale, one with holes on both ends (for the bolts) and the other with the front bolt pad and the rear is just folded over. do you drill the strap for the rear bolt? of course one is cheaper than the other. might just make my own.

do not know which straps you speak of but I have seen straps that have a provision for a bolt in one end and a slot where a T bolt fits to allow it to attach on the other end. In our case we used straps that had holes in each end, then modified one end to bolt to a crossmember which we drilled holes in. Kieth

using the std straps with holes,

Re: gas tank straps

I think the 60-62 straps are a little different than the 63-66

Re: gas tank straps

If you look at the back of the cab, about halfway up the back wall, there are brackets that the folded part of the strap slips in. The cab is a 66

Re: gas tank straps

so they must have changed in 63 or 64? here is a pic of mine which bolt down by the floor in back, not like the tabs on the back wall.

Re: gas tank straps

The same as the 61. No problem....they are just taking up space here. If you need them, cover shipping and they are yours.
