Question on American AutoWire Update kit

So I am about to start on the Wire upgrade kit but I was wondering if I can do the inside cab first and still use the OEM wiring kit for everything under the hood.

Reason is that my Blazer is a daily driver, and I'd like to do it in stages to reduce down time.

Plan is to do the work in the cab in a day or two then finish up with all the outside stuff.

Re: Question on American AutoWire Update kit

I rewired my chevelle with their kit. Really good company and quality product. I believe it took me a couple days but I don't remember if the stock front plug will work. I believe they are wired different as it replaces all the wiring. You could always pull the front wiring plug off and see if you can plug it into the auto wire plug.

Call AAW tomorrow, they are friendly knowledgable people and will be glad to answer your question without any guessing.
Fwiw, I have installed that kit in my Jimmy and it's pretty darn awesome. All the connectors are factory, just extra circuits for more add ons if you need them... Like I did.

Also did the kit from AAW, from what I recall you'll need an adapter if you want to use your old wiring under the hood. I had a lot of questions and each time I called they were quick with the right answer.

Re: Question on American AutoWire Update kit

I'm going to get their kit for my Blazer in the next couple months. Also be sure to look into their crimping tool. I didn't use it and the one I had didn't do the quality job I would have liked. It's a pricey tool, but you could always sell it to recoup the cost. I plan to get it when I get my other kit.
