P0442 Error

Okay about once a week my Check engine light comes on, usually after it sets a day with half a tank of fuel.

The DIC will say "tighten gas cap" on occasion, and i did swap for a new gas cap, and i put the damn thing on with a jack hammer every time i stop for fuel.

any ideas on what causes the issue

the truck is a 20 2500HD with the 6.0

Re: P0442 Error

I had an issue such as this on my 09 G8. There turned out to be a small defect in the plastic on the tank and when the fuel got below the pinhole, then it registered as a loose cap.
