87 4x4 info.....Keith help
Did all the 87 fi 350 trucks come with a 700r4 even if there where 4x4?

No. I have had a few come through with TH400 and SM465 transmisions.

Well...certainly as Ray points out you could get a manual trans (M20) in the 1/2 ton.
Interestingly, in looking at the Powertrain Charts I see one application in a 1/2 ton with a 305 where you could get a non-overdrive automatic. I assume that would be a TH400 in that case. Other than that - yes - they are all overdrive autos. K

That's what I was thinking. I should have stated auto's only. My brother is looking at one and the guy says it's a 350 but it doesn't have od. It also doesn't have the indicator for od either. My guess is it's a 305, the truck is a custom deluxe.

All of the TH400 trucks and suburbans were 3/4 ton that I've come across. I look for the "K" case 400's.

Vin says it's a 305 but the owner don't want to believe It. It's a 80k original mile truck.
