Wifes 63 SWB BBW Fleetside

Hey all. Great site and great people. I have been a Diesel mechanic for over 25 years and have been tearing things apart since I can remember. I have a 1970 Monte Carlo that I have been working on for about 14 years now. It's about finished and the wife wanted something for herself. So here is her 63. It has a 305 and a 3 speed on the floor. It is going to need a total restoration. I have the AAW wire harness almost done and the brakes are finished. Now I'm working on the radiator and cooling system which is a mess. Anyway, of course I'm doing most of the work ,but she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty. I'm looking forward to the job and it sounds like you guys (and gals) are willing to help. Name: LiL Fred I 001.jpg

Thanks. We have 2 parades the first week of December with the Monte and then it goes to Grandmas till March. The truck goes in our shop and doesn't come out unless it's under it's own power.

Nice 70 and also I noticed the truck has the big real window. Should be a nice project. Welcome from Western Kentucky.

By the way, that truck is now at a grand old age of 50.

Thanks, 86swb. She has a lot of rust in her. I've never really done a lot of body work but this will be a good learning learning platform. I have a miller mig and a torch and a good air compressor. I first have to find some radiator mounts to fit a new radiator in there. The PO cut everything out ( even notched the frame a bit) to fit something they had laying around.

From what I can see in pictures, that is not a lot of rust. Should be an easy fix (from what I can see in pictures).
