I'm looking at this truck...
...It's a '68 C10. I know most of it's history. My friend's dad bought it used with 30 something thousand in about 71 or 72, and I've know these guys since 72. It's been in this same little town ever since. It's showing 25 thousand now, so I'm guessing 125,000. It's got a few issues, but it also has some bright spots.
First off, it's got the 402 and TH400 But I am uninterested in that. I would probably try to sell it off. What are they worth? It runs, but he says the floats are stuck. It's got a few whisky bumps: Front right fender Driver's door is sprung and creased Closer of that Dash has been cut This is probably the worse thing More to follow

Re: I'm looking at this truck...
Over all, it's in pretty good shape. Not much rust, which is odd for spending 45 Utah winters outside.
I couldn't get a shot of the SPID. It has the factory lock on the glove box and the guy didn't have the key handy. Pretty much plain Jane, except for that big block. What do yo think it's worth? If it had a regular old small block or even a six, I'd probably go a grand, but I'm not sure if I should go a little more for the 402. I don't want to insult the dude, and he don't have any idea what he wants for it. Actually, he doesn't have any idea why anyone would want it. I told him I'd ask around, and for him to make sure nobody in his family wants it, so I'll hit him up in a couple weeks and see what we can work out.

Re: I'm looking at this truck...
Nice opportunity, Gary. The reasons I like it are the things you'd be selling though (motor and trans). I do like that it's a 68, but it has the body problems on the door and roof, which makes if harder to run the original paint, unless it doesn't bother you. The dash has been cut too.
If the price were stupid cheap, that'd be one thing. For $500-$700, I think you could justify it. |

Re: I'm looking at this truck...
$500-700??, yep that is stupid cheap, even for a longbed. dents, paint, interior no big deal. but the drive train, brakes all function good? stuck floats? would guess about $1000-1200 because of engine, trans. for a friend. don't expect it to be a quick flip but, you never know
