Engine swap

Just picked up a plain Jane NBS '07 RCSB with about 126K on it. It has the 4.3L V6 that seems healthy at this point. If I decided to swap a V8 into it, what's entailed? Can I get a donor vehicle and swap EVERYTHING over - engine, harness, computer, etc.? I've done swaps, built engines, etc., just gotta know if this is pretty much plug and play.
First thing is to get this thing dropped!!! Looking at the McG 4/6 kit, on sale now for under $600.

Re: Engine swap

From what I see, it IS plug and play. Seriously considering a larger displacement when the 5.3 reaches it's max. My computer tune guy spends a lot of time with the Gen III and Gen IV engines and he says it takes very little to make the change.

Re: Engine swap

No current plans, the 4.3L has a lot more pep that I thought it would and at only 127K on the ticker, I hope it lives a long time.
But I do have that 6.0L iron block and LS3 heads and intake in the shop...
