6/5 drop

Trying to get everything I need to do a 5/5 drop on my 87, and the coils I bought from a buddy are 3". He for some reason thought they were 2". So now I have 3" springs, 3" spindles and a 5" flip kit. I'd like to see some pics of others with this much drop and also what size tires work best on 8" front and 10" rear truck rallies. Thanks

Re: 6/5 drop

short tires in the front help. once the tire gets to the top of the wheel opening is about the time you get your tires rubbing when you hit a bump while turning hard. i burned the paint off the top of my inners

Re: 6/5 drop

Put the 3" coils in. See how it rides. Could put a 1" spacer under the spring if it rubs too bad.

Re: 6/5 drop

If it were me I would sell the 3" springs and buy new 2" or cut the stock coil. I have never talked to anyone that liked 3" drop springs combined with spindles on a 73-87.

Yes I'm thinking that will be my plan. 6" will be a bit much for daily driving

The rear has a flip kit and 2 inch drop shackles. 20x8 and 20x10 wheels with 255/35s up front and 275/45s out back. It rides pretty good but i would think the front might be a bit low for a daily driver.
