Factory Tach 7000rpm ?
I'm wondering if the factory tach was ever made above 5000rpm.I want to go 7000 or close.
If anyone has some input here maybe there is something out there that will bolt right in without cutting or atleast minimal cutting to the access panel.

Re: Factory Tach 7000rpm ?
not in trucks but you should find that rpm out of a car that had a h/performance eng in it( that should be pretty close.

Re: Factory Tach 7000rpm ?
I had Jason from Greenback Decal build a factory-appearing 10k tach for my '66. He currently has a restored cluster with a 7k tach and clock on eBay.

Re: Factory Tach 7000rpm ?
I bought mine from eBay.
It was a column/hood mount Sun tach. I removed the lens and bezel, as well as the chrome cup and mounted the internals in my cluster. IIRC I paid under $75. Greg.

Re: Factory Tach 7000rpm ?
Sorry, I don't recall the size.
It was/is the same as the factory tachs for our trucks as Sun was the manufacturer for both. I suspect if you search ebay for a Sun 8000 or 10000 rpm tach you will find the same unit as I did (and no transmitter is required). Greg.
