Mcgaughy's rubbing issues
Has anyone installed mcgaughys 4.5/6 drop with the 2.5 spindles 2inch drop coils with the flip and cnotch? I have heared 15x8 rims will have rubbing issues in the front. I ordered 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing now I'm really concerned they won't fit. I don't want 16s or 17s.

I'm in the middle of a similar drop in my C10. I've read on here that 8" rallies will be fine.

I have the 2.5 spindles. It wasn't that big of a deal to me. I had the 15" Torque Thrusts when I first installed them. They knocked the balancing weights off the wheels as soon as I pulled out the driveway. I grinded the lip off of the lower control arm and I haven't had any problems since.

Yea were they 15x8s torque thrusts if they were the backspace is 4.50 to 4.75... Mine are only 3.75 backspace see my issue.....

I have Mcgaughys 3" lowering spindles with stock 15 x 8 and they did rub on the lower control arm. I grinded the lip on the control arm and that took care of it.

If you have lower backspace... that means your inner wheel lip is farther away from rubbing the tie rod/etc, which puts you at less risk of rubbing suspension parts.

With an 8 inch wheel with that backspace and 4.5 total lowering up front, you're gonna have to make sure you don't try and run too tall of a tire. Like the guy I quoted said, less BS alleviates the rubbing of the suspension since the wheel is further out, but it makes not having too beefy of a tire more critical too.
