Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
(First time attempting to sell parts, so bear with me.)
I'm a 60-66 guy, and I bought this '74 dually a while back with the intentions of using some of the chassis/driveline in one of my 60-66 C-30's. Obviously, I have no use for any of the body stuff, so I figure I'll put it up here. I'll try to get a list of particular parts and prices over the next few days; if you see anything you want just shoot me an offer on it. I'll also get some more pictures up real soon. (I figured I had to start somewhere) The truck is a composite, so some stuff is really rough and some is actually pretty nice--just ask me and I'll check it out. Thanks |

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
Trying to finish my 2 wheel drive 78 blazer. For some reason I sold my good hood and kept the crappy one. I need a great straight rust free hood and the inner fender wells plus a bumber. I have decent parts but looking for some really nice stuff to finish my blazer. I ten to forget things here is my email.......qksilver69@aol.com
Thanks, Steve |

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
Can you shoot me a quote for the grille shipped to 21901 to a business (some places are cheaper if you are sending to a business) Or a business in 08204 OR if you go through UPS ask if you can get any discount for shipping to a freight terminal in 21921 (My old man is a mechanic for UPS) please. also what do you have of the driveline? I cant really tell in the one pic what motor is in it. IF by any chance its a bbc with a 4spd behind it can you shoot me a quote ( I would drive down and pick it up if the price is right)
This will help me rebuild a new *first* truck. I have been having a hell of a time finding this grille. I was told they only came in 454 trucks

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
qksilver: The left inner fender is perfect IIRC, the right side has a small spot of rust-through on the top, but otherwise is also very good. the hood is usable, but has a little damage and a small amount of rust in the front "lip"; sounds like you're looking for one in better shape. Bumper has been wrinkled with tow hooks. Let me know if you're interested in the inner fender.
Sean: I didn't even really notice that until you pointed it out. Offhand, I think it's probably good, but I'll take some pictures of it and make sure. Camaro: I'll take the grill out and see. I thought it was an aftermarket piece, personally. It's straight, but the chrome has a little bit of rust haze. (I'll post a picture) The driveline is complete; it's a Goodwrench crate 350/SM465 granny 4 speed combo with the aluminum bellhousing. (The bellhousing/trans is the same deal as the BBC.) I was figuring on keeping it for my own projects, but I could probably come up with a BBC/SM465 4 speed combo pretty easily if you're having a lot of trouble finding one up where you're at. |

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
qksilver: Sure, I'll post a few. Checking them out again they are kinda rough, though (IMO). Left inner still looks pretty much perfect to me. The right side seems to have battery acid damage; there are a couple other rust holes like the one pictured. The hood has some rust in the front lip (tried to get a picture of it; didn't turn out great), and at one point was buckled a little and has a piece of tubing added as reinforcement.
Hertz: Sure thing. I'll try to pull it off tomorrow and see if I can get you a shipping quote. camaro: Yeah; MD/NJ is a good hours drive at least, right? I'll try to get the grill pulled tomorrow for you. |

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
I appreciate the time, I will pass. A good distance to drive but a set of good inner fender wells and a hood would have made it worth while. They pop up from time to time up here I just have to keep a look out.
Thanks again, Steve |

GA wuold be I believe roughly a 10hr drive.... unless its a free driveline or I have something I can transport and save you shipping or something to trade itd be hard to justify it, but not impossible..... Thanks for the hookup with the grille, can you PM the price you are looking for, for the grille then well add shipping just so i can get an idea of what you are looking for it

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
-Sorry, I've been busy the last couple of days.
Flashed: not great, but probably usable. Tweaked one a little loading the truck, but being soft aluminum should bend right back. If you want them I'll let you have them for pretty much scrap if you pick them up. I don't really have any good pictures of them, but if you're interested I'll take some. 79Betty: I'll have to check. It has HEI, but I'm not sure on the condition of the wiring. We are supposed to have some kind of awful ice storm and I might be stranded without power for a few days here, so bear with me. Thanks |

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
Im looking for the out side grill mounts for the factory grill. It would be the two triangular wings the mount next to the headlights. Any chance there still on the truck?

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
Flashed; here are a couple pictures of the steps; they're rough, but if you still want them let me know. (BTW, I would like to keep the lights off of them for a trailer)
79Betty; I got the cluster out and the printed circuit "wiring" looks good. Didn't get the other wiring out, but the interior harness actually looks like it might be alright. There are couple spots that I'd need to splice back "right", but it didn't look like a lot of hacking had been done on it. I don't think the engine wiring is as good, but probably also usable with a repair or two. WalkerB; sorry, it doesn't have the original mounts anymore. |

Re: Parting out '74 4spd one ton dually
New pictures of floor/trans hump/tunnel. I got the shifter hole dent/damage pretty much worked out. It wouldn't be visible under a mat/carpet, but I tried to get a picture of it anyway, FWIW.
