Measurements needed please!

Does any one have the measurements of the location of their transmission cross member? I need the distance from the original rivet holes of the old (3spd) to the mounting location of the new (TH350) the PO just had the old cross member just laying on the frame and I want to get it bolted down prior to installing the tranny.

just sit the trans crossmember in, let the trans sit on it. after you get everything in then drill and install, (this way you can make sure the engine does not hit the firewall......at least that was what we did......or just sit a piece of wood across the frame and let the trans sit on that.....Kieth

There are too many variables involved to go with what someone else has done. I agree with Kieth. Just bolt the trans up to the engine and sit the crossmember you are going to use under the trans. At this point you will want to check the angle of your output shaft to be sure it is parallel to the pinion. Then you can mark your holes, and if need be jack up the rear of the trans and move the crossmember to drill the holes.
