87 burb wiring demons

So i finally got the burb running that has been siting for about a year now. but she has some demons.

maybe some of you guys might know what is cross-wired or has been damaged. but here we go

i can turn the truck on, but it wont turn off. my dad actually installed a cut power switch to the distributor so we can turn it off.

next problem... when i want to use brake lights/ turn signals, i need to pull out the running lights or go full lights. the brake lights will not work if i push the light switch all the way in.

secondly, the motor seems to idling a little fast. but im going to check the timing.

all this has stemmed after some red neck mechanic installed a new distributor for us. initially they bent the distributor cap metal fins when installing the wire harness. which had to be redone.

thanks for the help guys.
