Help Identifying Vent Window Years

Need help identifying what years the vent window pictured below was used, along with specific models e.g. Silverado.
I need it to have the black out side button.

Thanks,
Les

Re: Help Identifying Vent Window Years

Another picture, need to add another picture tomorrow of inside handle. They made at least two styles of handles.
Thanks

Re: Help Identifying Vent Window Years

It's certainly not a '78. I'm guessing early 80's

Re: Help Identifying Vent Window Years

Vent windows were not specific to models (ie, a Custom Deluxe and a Silverado took the same vent window). I see that my '87 has the chrome button on it.

Earliest model years did not have the push button lock on the friction latch. My dad could open his '75 by sticking a steel rule through the seal, flipping the latch up and reaching in to unlock the door. The push button lock was added as a theft deterrent for the 1980 model year and beyond.

There were minor variations in the seal design, crosssection and length as we tried to address wind noise throughout the years but they were mostly ineffective and can probably be disregarded.

I think black buttons were used for 1988 and newer R/V trucks.

Re: Help Identifying Vent Window Years

Keith, thanks

That's kind of what I was thinking it is from a newer style of these trucks.

Re: Help Identifying Vent Window Years

It's hard to tell from your pictures but here is my two cents worth of knowledge. If the top corner of the glass goes straight up from the hinge to a point then it is from 77 to 81 or 82. If it make a curve after the hinge and before the top corner it is for 82 and up.
