Floor pan question?

I am trying to fit my new floor pan but, everything is lining up pretty nice except where the body bolt goes through the floor pan. It is close but not close enough. Is this a common issue and does anyone have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or how to fix it? I got the OEM replacement from LMC.

i don't know why they would not align. you may try to put a bolt in the hole on the floor pan while setting it down, slide the bolt into the hole and slide the pan around

I have tried that. Then everything else does not align up as well. Very frustrated.

maybe they sent the wrong one? Are those patches different from 60-62 and 63-66?

I have cut it to fit what I had cut out from the floor and it seems to be fitting better. Good point Casaba I just went and checked the part number on it to see if it is the correct one. The part number on it is the same as the one for my year truck. I did notice they are made over seas so I am sure its not an exact fit and needs a little persuasion. I am sure I can make it work, well at least I hope I can. I guess nothing a BFH and enough cutting, welding and grinding cant fix..LOL

let us know when you get it. I need to do that project soon for the 61 i'm working on and cant decide between the larger front section or the longer rocker section to use.

Well I can tell you that I used the longer rocker on the passenger side and so far that seemed easier. But will let you know when I get her all finished up.

From what I have use over the years it is a crap shoot on how well a panel is going to fit. The trucks are not perfect and the panels a less than perfect. So some times it takes a little extra work and sometimes a bunch. There are some threads here on the quality of certain parts.

From what we remember reading, someone had cut out the cab mount hole and then aligned the panel to fit where they wanted it. After that they welded the cab mount hole back in where it should have been. Most likely made by a old misaligned press. Evan396/dad

I just put '64 floor pans in an yes the bolt hole is in wrong spot on new panels. You need to cut a square out around bolt an reposition it

It is indeed a common issue. You'll need to cut out and relocate that hole.

cut, weld, grind, cut, weld, grind, sanding, sanding, sanding....etc. the repro panels are not very good.

Once everything is welded in what should I put on the floor inside of the cab? Almost done just have to relocate cab mount hole. Will post pictures soon.

Hardly any of the aftermarket floor pans align correctly.

And LMC does not carry any OEM replacement panels, they are all aftrermarket, like all the other vendors. It's been my experience tho, that at least you can get them pre-dented/damaged from LMC! LOL!

I just replaced my body bushings and noticed the holes through the frame had been wallowed out on one side. Most likely the result of your same problem. Can you check your frame and make sure it's close?

Slightly off topic but did you have to remove the tank when you did the back two body mounts?
