Power Steering Pump Mounting Bracket(s)

Hey all,

Have dropped in a running 454 in my 1973 C2500 pickup (originally had a 454, was replaced by a 350 and now putting back to stock). The power steering pump that came with the 454 had a hose that attached to the brake booster. My truck doesn't have this option, only has the two lines so couldn't use that pump. Since I had the stock pump thought the original bracket would still work.....

I never thought that it would be so difficult to find an aftermarket or stock mounting bracket or that there were so many different designs. Heck at this point I'd be willing to buy another pump but that's no guarantee that it will fit.

Can any of you that have a 1973-1976 GMC / Chevy pickup with a 454 send me a picture of what the heck the bracket looks like with the pump installed? Mine is on the drivers side, alternator on the passenger side so the pump is all by itself as far as belts go.

I don't have the tools / knowledge to fabricate one and have ran out of ideas.

Thanks,
Pat

If you do not score on your JY run here is one possible solution for LWP setup.

Re: Power Steering Pump Mounting Bracket(s)

Put the 454 pump back on the engine and plug one of the extra return holes. It's under no pressure at all. Just slide a piece of 3/8 hose onto the unused bib, stick a bolt down into the hose and tighten a hose clamp on it. No need to swap pumps or pull your hair out. There's no reason to spend money buying different stuff.
