79 or 83 body style?
My truck has a pretty good amount of rust thats not visible. Im not sure what i should go with. Get my rust fixed or buy a friends rust free 79 c10 for $2500 and swap the body over. Opinions?

Re: 79 or 83 body style?
I think I would get the 79 and use those parts, if possible. GTT

Re: 79 or 83 body style?
I like them both, that's a toss-up. I had an '83, so I might be biased. But I do love the round-eye trucks a lot. Seems like a lot of work for a little bit of rust. If it's not that bad, I'd take care of it now and not have to do an entire body swap.

C10 cab on a K10 frame? That's gonna be a little work. If you don't want to cut up the floor on the C10 you can use a body lift to clear the drive train. Then you can just cut a small hole for the shifter.

Have a few body shops give you a quote on the rust repairs on your truck. It might be cheaper to repair yours vs doing a body swap.

I went to 2 and to fix the majority of rust on the cab it'll be at least 1600.

Re: 79 or 83 body style?
I'm kinda lazy i would pay the 1600 vs the 2500 and having to swap the bodies.

Re: 79 or 83 body style?
Neither. Get a totally rust free truck from the desert southwest and have it transported to you. I doubt that the rust free truck you are considering is really rust free, unless it just moved to your rust belt from a no salt climate. Rust never sleeps. About $1000-$1500 buys a rust free truck with bad or no engine and trans - transport to you for about $800(?) and sell parts not used. Check CL in AZ, NM, NV and maybe socal.
