Wiring Connections
OK..I thought I had a pretty good handle on all the wiring connections when I removed the steering column from my '87 Silverado. I discovered quickly during the install that I couldn't figure out two of the connections. So, I'm looking for a little help. One connection is for the horn. I have a black wire coming out of the column but for the life of me I can't find the connection. I have another black connector with a white lock on it and I can't seem to find where that one goes either. I think this one might be for the idiot lights. If anyone out there cares to reply I can supply pictures of these two connections. Thanks.

Re: Wiring Connections
Attached are pictures of the two connections I can't seem to locate. The first one is a spade connection which I believe it for the horn since it is coming out of the steering column. The second connection is coming from the harness and it may be for the idiot lights and again, I can't seem to locate its connection either. I appreciate your help.neatoldstuff@verizon.net
I apparently can't include pictures since I do not have a URL address. If you would reply to my email address I can provide pictures. Thanks again for your help. Dave |

Instead of using the "Quick Reply" box use the "Post Reply" button after the last post.
There you will find the attachment paper clip button to add pictures from your computer. That way if I can't help maybe someone else can chime in. Buddy

Re: Wiring Connections
Thanks for getting back to me and I really appreciate your time. I think you have correctly identified the connectors. I just looked at my harness and the column and can not for the life of me find where these two wires connect! I must be blind or I'm overlooking the obvious, I just can't locate them. I remember disconnecting them, I just can't seem to find where I disconnected them from. Thanks for your help. Sorry I couldn't send the pictures, it would have been a lot easier if I could upload the pictures from my picture folder. Thanks again, I'll keep on looking.

Maybe you can access the link above. I don't think the two will plug together. The mail spade you describe is accurate and is too wide to fit into the black plastic block that contains four female pins. |

Re: Wiring Connections
The notched side of the male spade goes toward the the white lock on the block.
